It shall be the mission of the Spirit of 67 Foundation to raise funds and acquire resources to provide enriching, educational and cultural experiences for the students, parents, faculty and staff of Lake Forest School District 67 that might not otherwise be provided.

The short videos feature school principals narrating and giving glimpses inside the District 67 buildings during this extraordinary school year!
"Spirit Strong - the voices of our District 67 children." This video is the result of an optional FlipGrid assignment given to all grades Kindergarten through Eighth. Students were asked: "What was the best part of this year?" and "What was the hardest part of this year?" Their sincere and unscripted responses have been compiled into a feature video that brings you into the minds of our District 67 students during this unprecedented year.

COVID-19 Off Cycle Grants In Action

The Spirit of 67 is proud to announce multiple off-cycle grants awarded to District 67 to help with learning in the time of COVID-19.

The Spirit is adapting to global change, while staying true to our mission of enhancing and enriching the education of District 67 students and teachers. Thanks to our generous donors, we are able to take action, strengthening the learning experiences of our students whether at home or in school. Below are some ways we are supporting our teachers and students this fall:
iPad Stands
We provided our teachers, both hybrid and AVA, with iPad stands for their school or home classroom allowing them flexibility to easily adjust their iPad between videoing themselves and displaying items for student instruction.
Beecaster Tabletop Microphones
These portable microphones will provide AVA and Remote Special Teachers with a boost in sound quality and audio output where needed ensuring all students receive clear, easily heard instruction.
Magnetic Letter Sets and Trays
Each K-2 Hybrid and AVA students will receive a complete alphabet set and magnetic tray to work on spelling, letter patterns, and word wall words during home activities and extra work with specialists. At the end of the school year, the sets will be returned to school, sanitized and re-used the following school year.
Art Supply Kits
Through a partnership with the District, we are helping fund art supply kits for every student in District 67, hybrid and AVA, to use at home during their remote art class. Spirit funded enhancements are grade-based and include items such as specialized sketch books, neon crayons, watercolor paints, oil pastels, charcoal sets, etc...

Physical Education Supply Kits
We are providing PE supply kits selected by the wellness teachers to all students, both hybrid and AVA, to assist with at home instruction. Depending on the grade, the kits will include a variety of items from balls to pedometers to beanbags and cones to facilitate District 67 students staying active and healthy.
